When we drove to Freeport Hall, it was raining. And that’s probably the understatement of the year. When we were driving on 75 all the cars were driving about 35 miles per hour and we all had our four ways on! It was torrential, and the lighting and thunder was insane! We looked at each other and said, “Oh boy. Today’s going to be interesting!” Especially since the ceremony was outdoors AND we had scheduled to do all of the portraits before the ceremony since they chose to share a first look! We started praying and doing anti-rain dances right there with our seat belts on. We didn’t look as cool as this kid though.
When we got to Freeport, it was still raining pretty substantially and although we ALWAYS come prepped with umbrellas for our couples, it was still pretty crazy to imagine trying to shoot in that! But wedding days are amazing things in that things somehow always seem to work out the way they’re supposed to. Just MINUTES before we were supposed to do the first look, the clouds parted, the rain completely stopped, and the sun even started shining. It was true wedding day magic!
When they saw each other for the first time, the only way we can put it is it looked like they both came home and just settled right in. And it really showed when we started the romantic portraits of these two! They were so happy, and so sweet together, and super giggly, and it was amazing. And take it from us, when it comes to giggling Kristan is the expert. Seriously. She could host a masterclass workshop for every bride and bridesmaid ever to teach them how to giggle and look SO gosh darn pretty doing it. And Tim was really into it too! He had so many wonderful and fun ideas when it came to the portraits. That bridge? All his idea. Showing off the back of Kristan’s dress with her head on his chest? Yep. That was inspired by him too! And can we just talk for a moment about how sweet his vows were? He literally calculated each minute and second he and Kristan had been together and said how meaningful those moments had been for him!
Congratulations you guys! We had so much fun with you both and are so happy for this amazing life you’ve started together!
