2016 Military Wedding Giveaway!

Servicemen and women have always been a group of people that are very near and dear to our heart. Several family members, friends, and loved ones of ours have sacrificed their time and lifestyle in order to serve our country. The people in our life who serve or have served in the military are some of the most polite, kind, thoughtful, driven, and disciplined people we know. We have wracked our brains in a way that we, wedding photographers of all people, could find a way to give back to people who have chosen this as their career path. And then it hit us. It hit us like a ton of bricks, and it seemed so obvious!

A free wedding.

How many times have you heard the stories over and over again about people in the military missing their own weddings or having to reschedule time and time again because of orders? How many veterans do you know who never had a real wedding…they just had to go down to the courthouse because they were going to be deployed soon? How about those who had to get married in a hurry so they could join their spouse on base when they were being sent halfway across the country? Or what about those people who have ever given up hope of getting married or having a fabulous wedding at all because the cost is insurmountable, and there just isn’t enough time? What about those wounded in battle whose entire savings has gone to medical bills?

I don’t know if we can give you an exact answer, but whether you’ve heard it once, or 100 times, it’s too many. These people are the most deserving, hard working, selfless people in our country. They more than most deserve the wedding of their dreams.

So we put our heads together with some of the most amazing people in this wonderful industry, and together, we are making it happen! It sounds way too good to be true, right??? Well, rub those eyes, pinch yourself, splash some cold water in your face, and scream at the top of your lungs. Go on. We’ll wait.

Now that you’re sore, wet, hoarse, and convinced that you are not dreaming, let’s meet your amazing wedding team who is making this possible!

    January 1st, 2016 at 11:29 pm

My name is Chasitie Miarer. My husband was in the army reserve for 7 years. We had our wedding planned for June 25th 2011. I had bought my dress, all my bridesmaids had their dresses bought, all my decorations, church and preacher in line along with the hall and catering and all my invitations. One day my fiance got a call he was getting sent out to California so we went to the courthouse and got married. We had 2 daughters at the time. He’s been to California 3 times since we’ve been together and for a year at a time. I would love to have a “real” wedding and reception because we never got to celebrate. I have followed all the vendors on your site! Thank you for your time.

  3. Brittany

    January 2nd, 2016 at 1:41 am

Hello, My name is Brittany Martinez. My husband’s name is Braden Martinez, and he is a sgt in the army reserves where he has served for 5 years and enlisted active duty for 1 year in the beginning. We were married on March 1st 2014, about 1 month before he deployed. Our wedding was very small as it was only him, myself, and our 2 girls in the wedding. The service was held in a small chruch that our family members preach at. After the ceremony was over a handful of our family gathered for brunch to celebrate. This all was okay to me as I always say it’s not about the show that really matters, its the fact that you get to marry the love of your life! What am I kidding though? Isn’t it every girls dream to have “THE WEDDING” with a beautiful dress that everyone adores and the most amazing celebration that is talked about for weeks? We spent the 1st full year of our marriage apart as he was deployed over seas for a short stint in Kuwait and then his unit got deployed to Afghanistan for 7 months. I always tell everyone that we were lucky to be able to have the technology there is today as it allowed us to “text” through certain wifi based apps. I made sure to send 2-3 care packages a month whether he needed something or not I knew that the reciept of a care package was the best part of the month for any soldier! I don’t want to make it all sound wonderful because there were a few times I was able to hear some of the rockets and morter attacks hitting the base and times where we couldn’t talk because the internet was down or else he was being moved. Those nights I couldn’t sleep and didn’t want to get up for work the next day. I kept moving forward as I knew in good faith he would contact again. The journey has been a ride for both of us for sure but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Our deployment shared made us stronger than ever and appreciate more. We both would really love to be able to have a celebration of our own with family and friends, with beautiful pictures to last a lifetime! It is very much appreciated the genorosity that you all have given. Thank you all! I have reached out to each vendor and liked all of your pages, I also am re-posting this on my facebook as well speak.

  5. Alexander Bromley

    January 2nd, 2016 at 3:40 am

Well, before I get into telling our story, I just want to thank everyone that has come together to make this possible for not just Allison and me, but for all the Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen and Coast Guardsmen as well. This is an amazing opportunity and I wish the best of luck to everyone, whether they are chosen or not. So, I guess I should introduce us now. My name is Alex Bromley and my beautiful bride’s name is Allison Burgin. I was in the Ohio Army National Guard for 6 and a half years and in July of 2015 I reenlisted and transferred to full time Active Army. Allison and I have spent a lot of time during the, almost 6 years we have been together, apart. Whether it was a weekend to 3 weeks at a time for training, the year I was away while deployed to the Middle East, or for the 6 months and counting that I am currently away to finish training for Active Duty Army, it feels as if when I am with her it is only to wait for myself to leave again. The whole time we have been together I told her I didn’t want to rush a wedding because she deserves more than just a courthouse wedding and a trip to Taco Bell afterward, so we put it off. We waited past all of the training and the deployment. After all that time we decided it was best that I went full time and that’s when I knew that we couldn’t push it off any longer. So in July before I left, after being engaged for 2 years, we went to the courthouse and made it official. But the next day felt like any other day, and soon after I left home again. On paper and legally we are married but we didn’t get the celebration, the laughter, or the tears. She didn’t get the day that every princess dreams about having in a white dress and I didn’t get to watch my best friend and love of my life walk down the aisle toward me. I want her to have the laughter and tears. The dress and the flowers. And who doesn’t want delicious wedding cake?! I know I kind of got carried away in typing this, but half-way through this just made me realize even more that she has made more sacrifices than she should have and has spent almost 2 years of her life waiting for me to come home. With her birthday being January 12th, yet another one that I can’t spend with her, I don’t think there could be a better birthday present than finding out we would be having a wedding she deserves this year. Thanks for taking the time to read this! We have both Liked the Facebook pages and are Following the Instagram pages that were listed as well as Sharing the link the the blog!

  8. Monika Lira-Zeides

    January 2nd, 2016 at 9:11 pm

Hello, my name is Monika. My fiance/husband is currently serving in the U.S. Army. We both come from difficult backrounds. Both of our mothers are suffering from Breast Cancer. WE were married by the court a year ago. Unable to leave with him, i stayed home in Ohio to help my mother, while working 3 jobs. I had to save up money in order for me to move down with my husband. Allot of people think that being in the army/military that you will have so much money. Thats not true. Your pay is by your rank, and you get a certain about of BAH and BAS and even that is not enough to support your family. We have always talked about having a beautiful, traditional wedding. With finaces how it is now a days, it seems like we won’t even come up with a deposit for a ceremony/reception til 2019. Yes I know that traditionally family’s help. However with both of our family’s illness and with there finaces , they can barely afford to help. We have lower our standards and kept a low budget, but allot of things that go into a wedding-photographers-flowers-apparel- ect. Are extremely exspensive. Even if you cut things out. With the fear of him getting orders for Iraq, it just scares me that we will never get to share that special day with each other, let alone with our families. Thank you.

My husband and I are both in the US Air Force. We met in Germany while working together. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to come home to get married with our family and friends due to our low manning. However, we didn’t really have a choice in getting married due to our fast approaching PCS (change of duty station) and the possibility of being separated if we didn’t get married. So, instead of having a wedding without my father, we opted to get married “online” via a double proxy through Montana. That’s right, sign some paperwork, send it in, and received an email saying “congratulations” 2 weeks later. Not quite what either of us had in mind, but we didn’t have many options. Thankfully, we did get to move together and are currently in the process of moving to California. There is nothing in the world that would make us happier than getting to have our dream wedding with our families! I really hope we get chosen!! And even if we don’t, I cannot express how amazing I think ALL of you are for being so willing to allow someone their dream day! Good luck to all!

    P.S. I liked/followed all vendors ☺️

It’s so amazing to have the technology and ability to have those options available! I couldn’t have a had a wedding without my dad by my side, so that was my best option. If we win this contest it would mean the world to my husband and myself, as well as my father!

  14. Melinda Brand

    January 3rd, 2016 at 5:26 pm

Hello guys! My name is Melinda Brand and my husband is SPC Kenny Brand. He is currently active in the US Army and is stationed in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. My daughters and I reside in a small town close to Findlay. Kenny and I had a quick wedding in November 2015 at the court house. He was only able to get leave for 4 days so he drove 15 hours to get married spend a day with me just to drive the 15 hours back! He’s been in the Army a little over 6 years and is now getting ready to hear up for deployment. Only for 9 months 🙂 he’s always been there for me and my daughters the moment we met! He’s such an amazing person inside and out! I would love to win this for him and I beings we didn’t have time or the money to get a real wedding! He sacrificed so much being 1,000 miles away from his family on the regular, now will be over 6,000 again. Being apart is becoming our normal. We have until October 2018 for our family to be together again! I would like to thank you all for giving us military couples hope to have a dream wedding some of us couldn’t get the chance to have!

  17. Danielle Rickerd

    January 3rd, 2016 at 11:39 pm

Hello, my name is Danielle Rickerd. My husband is Josh Rickerd and he has been active duty Air Force for 3 years! When he joined the Air Force I was attending Kent State. When we learned his first duty station was Cannon AFB in Clovis, NM, that is when we decided to get married so quickly. At the time he was in tech school and we planned for me to come visit him and get married in Texas so that I could be on his orders to Clovis. So me, my parents and my sister all bought our plane tickets and we had it planned for them to be there with us when we got married, even though it was at the courthouse. Plans quickly changed when my grandmas brain cancer got really bad. So we ended up canceling our trip because it was very likely she could pass while we were visiting Texas. Before she passed though, I got a phone call one day and it was my husbands mom saying that my soon to be father in law had passed away in his sleep. So Josh had to quickly come home to attend the funeral and just be with family. It was tough times for everyone, but both of our families still wanted us to get married while we were in the same state together. So while he was home we ended up going to the JOP in downtown Cleveland and getting married. A couple days later is when I got the phone call saying my grandma passed away, which was extremely hard for my family. It was one of the saddest moments for us, me and my husband both loosing such important people in our lives. But I’m so happy we got to get married through all the craziness. We have lived in Clovis for about 2 and a half years now. Josh has been deployed overseas since the beginning of July, but he is finally coming home at the end of this month. Me and him both want a wedding so badly, but sadly for financial reasons don’t see it happening anytime soon. This would be such an amazing opportunity for us! It would be nice to have a ceremony and celebrate our marriage the way we have wanted since the beginning!

    P. S. – I have liked, followed and shared the links above!

    January 6th, 2016 at 2:04 am

Hi my name is Macie! It’s not every day you see something this amazing taking place so I’d like to thank every single person who was a part of this to make it happen! My fiancé and I have been engaged since November 14 of this last year. What makes our story special is that we are both currently serving in the United States Air Force. I am in my second year of my enlistment and my fiancé Josh has been in for 4 years now! We met about 6 years ago at MEPS ( military entrance processing station ). It wasn’t until a year and a half ago that we became a couple though. I came home from basic training June 1st of 2014 and had a message from him that day asking to take me on a date, and we’ve been together ever since! We’ve managed to stay strong as a couple even when one of us has had to leave for duty, the awesome thing is that we understand the military life and that makes it somewhat easier to deal with. We currently have a baby boy on the way! We are doing things a little backwards, baby first then wedding but that’s just fine with us because our little boy will be able to share our special day with us. I am 30 weeks into my pregnancy and due March 10th. Unfortunately, Josh is deploying next week. His departure date is January 13 and he isn’t due to come home until the end of April. We have both been full of emotions lately knowing he won’t be here for the birth of our first child. FaceTime won’t do it justice but that’s the only way of having him be a part of our big day. This last November right after we became engaged we moved into our own home together and have managed to get our little mans nursery started! We agreed on a name as soon as we found out the gender, Camden David Miller. Camden’s first time meeting his daddy is going to be quite special! He will be almost 2 months old at that point. Him and I will be standing there as soon as Josh steps off the airplane waiting for the biggest hugs of our lives! Josh and I have been hoping to have our wedding in the fall of 2017. We planned to wait until then because I’m currently a full time nursing student and we don’t have the funds quite yet to be able to make our special day happen so we are in saving mode! We didn’t choose to rush off to a courthouse and get married and have a reception later in time because we want all of our loved ones to be there to experience every aspect of us becoming married. Being able to get married next year and have the funds covered would be an absolute blessing! We have awesome friends, amazing family, and soon will have our beautiful baby boy to be a part of our big day and we cannot wait for that day to be here! Even if we don’t win, any couple who gets this will be well deserving and we are so grateful to have a chance at something this great! Thank you to all who are making something this wonderful possible and good luck to all:)

PS I liked all the Facebook pages and followed everyone on Instagram!!

  22. Sierra Gandee

    January 6th, 2016 at 3:30 am

First and foremost, I think this is truly amazing what you all are doing. Regardless of whether I am the one to win, this is incredible and I’m sure so beyond appreciated from all military families, especially the one lucky winner! My name is Sierra, I’m two weeks post-partum after the delivery of our second child. A friend tagged me in this, and my first thought was “way too good to be true!” Reading through all you guys are giving away, of course I’m super emotional and just imagining how incredible this would be for us. My fiancé, Travis, is in the Air Force. He has been in the military for 15 years. He has 11 more to go before he retires! He’s a lifer! He works full time (5 days a week, drill weekends, deployments) out at the 200th RED HORSE squadron here in port Clinton, Ohio. Maybe you’re familiar with it! We have been together 4 years, engaged for almost 2 1/2 years. we just welcomed our second child on December 22nd, 2015. Our first was born math 8th, 2014. You can see how this is relevant considering we have to keep putting off wedding plans to welcome our beautiful babies. Also, who has that type of money to spend on a wedding, especially when you want to give your children the world?! We sure don’t. Everyone keeps asking when the date will be, and our reply is, “eventually,” and “we will see!” We’ve been trying to save up for the past few years, but honestly, without any help paying for the wedding besides ourselves, anything besides eloping seems unrealistic. Do I want to elope? No, of course not! I’m 25 years old, and have always dreamed of the big day! But, at this rate, that might be what we will have to do. I don’t know how much longer I can wait to marry the man of my dreams. He’s been deployed more times than I can count, 5 of those were the BIG deployments. None of the big ones since we have been together, thankfully.. But I know that day is coming. He was gone for 2 months in 2014 when our daughter was 5 months old and was deployed in Israel twice in 2015, during my pregnancy for two months. As all military families know, you never know when they will be taking your spouse again, or for how long, or where they will be going for that matter! We found out both times last year that he was leaving, a week before he left! That was rough, especially with my emotional, pregnant self! Haha anyway, military families have to stick together, because only they know how difficult it is on the serviceman themselves, and their families! So thank you all for what you’re doing. It truly is incredible. And thank you for listening to our story! Here’s to hoping we get to meet in the end!

What an awesome gift for so many to give a couple! My fiancé and I met one month after he returned from his 2013 deployment! And I being the crazy woman I am knew he was the special one! He is currently serving his 8 th year of being in the United States Air Force. Our story is one for the books that is for sure. I met him December 30th of 2013. I, at the time was a stylist at a local barber shop. He came in after work and sat in my chair ( I instantly wanted to know if he was single) we talked the entire haircut I think he left after sitting in my chair for close to two hours!!! Well the next night was New Years Eve and guess who I saw at the bar? You guessed it him we spent the entire night talking and laughing, even missed the ball drop! Fast forward 3 weeks and he finally asked me on our first date! I show up to his house and not even 30 mins later we go into level 3! 3 days I spent with him 24/7! It was the most fun I’d had in a long time we bonded and formed an awesome relationship in those three days! Andrew and I have an 11 month old daughter named Charlotte. She is our world and give her everything we have with our crazy schedules ( Me in school and Andrew working long days and weekends sometimes) we had planned for a 2017 wedding sometime in the early fall. Andrew leaves January 13th for an overseas deployment. This will not be our first deployment together but this one will definitely be different as he will be missing his daughters first birthday, his sisters wedding, and the joy of planning our wedding. Andrew has done so much for me since the day I met him he has given me security love and patience. It would mean so much to lighten the financial load off of his shoulders and let him be able to come home and focus on our daughter and not working to give me the wedding he believes I deserve! That’s my favorite part of my fiancé he truly believes I deserve the world when the reality is I already have it!!!! I wish the best of luck to all the couples entering and congratulations on the engagements and happy wedding planning!!

Hello, my name is Lindsey and my fiancé’s name is Joshua Valera. He is currently active in the U.S. Army and is stationed in Fort Stewart, Georgia. I, however, live in Bowling Green and am attending school, pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice. We are both from Ohio and met our junior year of High School in math class. I ended up helping him with math (because it was NOT his favorite thing) and we got really close. I rode horses and refused to ever spend time with someone who didn’t share my love for horses, especially my big guy, Leo. Well long story short Leo LOVED Joshua and Joshua LOVED Leo. Joshua and I began dating on August 20, 2012 and have been together for 3 years and 4 months. However, joining the Army was always his dream, something he wanted to do. With a little encouragement, he joined the Army as an infantryman, and left for basic on January 6, 2014. We have been doing everything long distant for 2 years now. We are still young and figuring out life with deployments and everything but are slowly figuring it out (tips are always welcome)! Very recently (January 3, 2016) Joshua used Leo to propose. He was getting him ready for me and came and got me saying that Leo would not pick up his hooves to be picked and he needed my help. When I came out, he said, “let me show you.” At this time he swung around and got on one knee right next to Leo and asked me to marry him. It was perfect. I guess the moral of the story is… I just can’t wait to marry my best friend! Best of luck to everyone entering, each and everyone of you truly deserves it!

Hi my name is Rachel Cole and my husband is Dustin. We had been together for two years when Dustin decided to join the Air Force in 2007. I had just graduated high school and was devistated when he had left. We had talked about marriage but of course being so young, I didn’t know how to break it to my parents. During our time apart while he was at boot camp, we both realized that we wanting nothing more but to be together and I could not stand the thought of being away from him for one more day! He sent me a letter telling me he wanted to marry me and when I flew down for his graduation, he proposed and of course I said YES! In order for me to be able to live with him during tech school, we had to be married. We did not have any time to prepare a wedding so I flew down again shortly after and we married in the court house alone with no family or friends. It was a happy yet sad day all at the same time. I was becoming one with the love of my life, but also was unable to have my loved ones there for me, as I’ve always pictured my wedding day. My father was crushed that he did not get the chance to walk me down the aisle. I missed out on the bridesmaids and planning that every girl dreams of! Soon after, Dustin was deployed during Iraqi freedom to Qatar for a deployment, again putting of the wedding we still wanted to have. After his deployment, I was finishing nursing school and shortly after, became pregnant with our first child ( again putting off the wedding ). He ended up serving 4 years, when we decided to come back home to raise our children closer to family. We have been married for over 8 years and still have not been able to have our wedding. It would be such a blessing to finally be able to finally have a wedding joined by our friends and family! Thank you for this amazing opportunity! Good luck everyone!
