2016 Military Wedding Giveaway: Meeting Alex & Allison

This past Saturday was insanely gorgeous! When we walked up to the barn on the Scarlet Oaks Estate property, we seriously couldn’t even believe it was February! Today? 30 degrees. :/ Thanks Ohio. Lol. At any rate, we were able to get the full tour of the property by the amazing owners of Scarlet Oaks, Bridgette and Kate. Let’s just pause to talk about these two for a moment. They are sweet, smart, and making a whole lot of right decisions when it comes to this place! The bridal suite is breathtaking, the honeymoon suite is huge and romantic, the groom’s suite is super cool, there is SO MUCH PROPERTY, and they are doing a ton of work on the barn, including hanging a chandelier and bistro lights! BridesĀ listen…if you’re wanting an estate wedding, a tented reception, an outdoor ceremony, a rustic wedding, or pretty much ANYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE, stop what you’re doing right now, click on this link, and get ahold of these two ladies. Your experience at this place is going to be bar none. They’ve thought of everything! Fresh flowers in your room, hooks for amazing dress shots, special hangers for you and your bridesmaids…even a place for you to open presents with your family the next morning!

IMG_7355Did we bring our cameras with us? Yes we did. Did we take a single picture with them? No. No we did not. Between ONE of us (coughStephaniecough) hobbling around on a broken foot and us just taking this place in, and in complete and total awe, our cameras never even made it out of the bag. We were using our cell phones. Lol. But if Kate and Bridgette would have us out again, we’d love to take some pictures to share with all of you. šŸ˜‰

A bit of back story before we continue. Alex is currently living in North Carolina while he goes through his Special Forces training. Yeah. SPECIAL FORCES. While he’s awaiting his orders after training, his wife Allison is still here until they get the go ahead. So the plan was for Allison to come and she was going to Skype with Alex so we could all chat with him as well. Then the day before we learned that one of her bridesmaids Sami, who is a former KS Bride (!!!!!!), told us that she was going to accompany her! YAY! Best. Day. Ever. But then when they walked in? Holy Moses, we got the best surprise ever!!! ALEX WAS WITH THEM! He drove up to meet all of us (and of course spend some time with his wifey), and we about fell out of our chairs!

IMG_7357Talking with them was so amazing. Hearing their story, listening to their plans for their future, and their vision for their wedding day that they have been waiting so long for, and hearing how grateful and still in shock they were was such a blessing to say the least. We KNEW in that moment that the right couple had been drawn. <3 It was so wonderful to get to know them, and we can’t wait to do their anniversary session in July before their wedding day finally comes!

The Scarlet Oaks Estate sounds beautiful and as a daughter of a retired Navy commander I know how each moment with your military family member is extra special. Wonderful!
