Kyle & April | A Rustic Summer Wedding at Cobblestone Farm in Ann Arbor

When we got to the Davies House Inn this past Sunday and knocked on the door, we weren’t 100% certain what we were in store for. See, we’ve taken a bit of a journey with Kyle & April. April and Stephanie go way back to high school, but it wasn’t until recently that all four of us connected and INSTANTLY became very good friends! Our friendship started with these two a couple of years ago when they were still dating. So we’ve literally gotten to see these two go from boyfriend/girlfriend, to finance, to spouse! And you guys…what a journey it’s been! Not only are these guys super sweet and so much fun to be around (Exploding Kittens anyone?), but they are also both insanely talented. They actually met over their mutual love of music back in college, and April spends her days passing on that love to young people.

The BnB was buzzing with excitement and ridiculous love poems (seriously…so much giggling over these darn poems), and April literally didn’t know what to do with herself. She had worked so hard and diligently to make sure each and every detail was perfect and there was literally nothing left to do! The day was in the capable hands of the OTHER April from Your Perfect Day and the design team behind La Boutique Nostalgie. The only thing left for her to do was to get married!

We arrived at Cobblestone and started exploring the grounds. This place is AMAZING. So much character and history in such a gorgeous place! The manor, the free range animals, the grounds, the garden…everything is just so gorgeous! Once it was time for Kyle & April to see each other for the first time, we went in front of the beautiful manor. As April turned the corner and saw Kyle’s back standing to her, you could see her face flush with a million emotions. She got behind him, took the deepest breath we may have ever seen, and gently touched Kyle’s arm. And oh my word…wait until you see their reaction when they saw each other!

The ceremony was wonderfully tearful. We’ve seen a lot of ceremonies and have them down to almost a science. However, they did something amazing during their ceremony that we’ve never seen before. They were so honored that each individual person was there to support them so they invited all of their guests to play a part in their wedding. They passed around their rings and asked everyone to place their hands on it. As their guests did so, you could see some of them giving a little extra squeeze while a few said a short prayer. And it made it that much more meaningful as they slipped those rings onto one another’s fingers.

We all headed into the reception ready to dance the night away! Everything was perfect from the music, to the food, to the decor. We were all able to celebrate these two people who deserved to be celebrated!

Congratulations Kyle & April! Have an AMAZING time in France…we can’t wait to hang out when you get back!
